Pork and Sauerkraut - if you know what I mean, you're a true Pa. Dutchie

Yes, pork and sauerkraut are a real tradition in the Dutch community on New Years Day.  So I want to wish all of you a good sauerkraut and pork dinner, may your luck this next year be the best!  For that's what pork and sauerkraut mean - may good luck follow you all the year.

Last night in the Rio Grand Valley was like what you have seen on movies from Baghdad that first night.  I kid you not that from 12 midnight until 12:10 there was a constant rumble up and the valley - the full 50 miles or so.  Our poor puppy was shaking so bad I thought he would have a heart attack.

Now at my age you're probably wondering what the heck are you doing up at midnight, right?  I have such a bad cold I was coughing and sniffling so bad I couldn't sleep.  I finally got some rest about 6Am by sitting in my recliner and dozing off for an hour.  But even thought I'm sick I got up at 9 AM and took the dog out and started to give him a haircut.  Then, wonder of wonders  -  it starts to rain!  So now I have a have done cocker spaniel.  He looks like an old feather duster where half the feathers have fallen out, back end short and smooth and the front long and shaggy.

I feel pretty good about this next year.  It will be our first full year full timing. After a couple of months here in Texas we will head on out to Oregon then back across country to New Hampshire and Pennsylvania.  We think next year we will go to Florida for the winter and stay east of the Mississippi for the winter and 2013.   Nice to have a plan.

Happy New Year to you all and I hope you get your happiness - what ever you seek.  We'll be back on here soon.
